Family Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop

Come join us at one of our very popular Gingerbread House workshops. This is the fifth year we’ve offered these gingerbread house workshops and this event was even written about last year in a Boston Globe article.

Each team of 1-2 people will receive a pre-assembled house (made of graham crackers) , a bowl of royal icing (the glue) and access to the goodies table where we will have more than 20 different candies, cereals, cookies and other edible construction materials. The team is then free to build an addition, create a fanciful landscape and decorate their houses with excessive delight.

The workshop is a family event and children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost of the workshop is $42 for 1-2 people to decorate one house. Additional people are welcome at $10/person. In addition to all the workshop supplies, refreshments and snacks will be available.

This workshop makes such a fun family holiday tradition. It’s perfect for a parent-child bonding opportunity and makes for a fantastic date night activity.

Simplify the holidays and make them be more about experiences and shared moments rather than big box gifts.

Here are some pictures from last year’s events.

KIDS ONLY Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop

We know that it is a busy time of year, so we have added a Gingerbread House Workshop for just kids. This workshop is specifically for kids in elementary school; grades K - 5.

Each child will receive a pre-assembled house (a bit smaller than our regular size) , a bowl of royal icing (the glue) and access to more than 20 different candies, cereals, cookies and other edible construction materials. After choosing their materials, they wil have lots of fun decorating their house with excessive delight.

While we encourage each child to have their own house, up to 2 siblings may work on a house together. This is such a fun way for good friends to enjoy a holiday activity together. Lets simplify the holidays and make them be more about experiences and shared moments rather than big box gifts.

Pizza & Polymer Clay Party - Miniature Food Charms

These may look good enough to eat, but all these polymer food sculptures are smaller than a quarter!!

Polymer clay comes in a variety of colors and is oven baked to harden. After first allowing the kids to get a feel for working with the clay, we will create two charms - a frosted donut and a cupcake. As time permits, kids may make an additional item of their choosing. While the clay items bake, we will enjoy some pizza and refreshments. Finally, we will take the “fired” charms and turn them into accessories such as a key chain or necklace pendant. The cost includes all supplies and instructions, refreshments and snacks followed by pizza from Wood Fired Pizza.  $30

I am very excited about this event as kids love making these charms of miniature food. This is the first time though that we have offered it in such a social gathering for kids.

For kids in grades 1 and higher.
