Handpaint & Sew a Zippered Pencil/Makeup Case

This class meets for two weeks. Sunday, October 13 and 20 from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. In the first class, we will take a plain square of canvas and paint, stamp and stencil it to our heart’s delight with a wide variety of fabric paint, markers and crayons. Your instructor will give guidance as to how to use the materials, but participants will have full freedom as to their design and colors.

The next week, we will take our fabulous painted canvas square and sew it into a zippered case. No painting and very limited sewing experience required. Don’t let that zipper idea intimidate you!

Very excited about this class as it involves painting, surface design and sewing all in one project. Three of my favorite things!!

This class is for adults and teens ages 14 and over. Children who have sewing experience, ages 10 and up, are welcome to come with a participating adult.

Cost: $38 Instructor: Stacy Gates

Beginning Acrylic Painting & Color Theory Class 4 weeks - 9/20 - 10/18

This is a four week class that meets on September 20 & 27 and October 4 & 18 (no class on 10/11) from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.

The use of color is one of the most important and exciting aspects of painting. Learning about color theory, experimenting with mixing colors, and gaining an understanding of how paint colors behave with each other is essential for painting in any medium.

We will begin with the basics of both color theory and painting techniques. As we learn about different color interactions we will create color study paintings in order to to establish a link between what we are learning and what we are painting.

This class is perfect for both the beginning and intermediate painter as professional painters know that with every painting there is always more to learn about color.

Class Fee: $100; includes materials fee of $15.
