Come paint a ceramic platter for the holidays that you will cherish for years. The studio has a large variety of plate and platter shapes and a number of patterns, design ideas and tips to help you create your vision.

No painting or ceramic experience required; we will walk you through the process step-by-step to ensure fabulous results.

Needle Felted Owl Sculpture

Come join us for our June Craft & Connect workshop for women.  We will be learning to create a 3 dimensional bird sculpture by manipulating fluffy wool fibers into firm felt.  

Using a specialty barbed needle and fluffy wool fibers, you'll learn the tricks and techniques for making a needle felted sculptural piece. 

We will be creating a sweet, 3 dimensional bird that will be so cute you will want to make an entire flock.

If you have a specific bird in mind, bring some pictures of it to the workshop.

All materials are provided and fun conversations, refreshments and snacks are always included.

Mandala Dot Painting Workshop

Come join us as we learn to create beautiful painted mandalas. 

In Buddhist culture, mandalas are said to transmit positive energy to the environment and to the people who view them. They are believed to effect purification and healing, and to achieve a sense of oneness with the universe. We will be painting our mandalas on 4” x 4” canvases after learning the relatively easy methods for creating perfect symmetrical dots of all sizes. Your finished artwork will be perfect for hanging in an entryway, bedroom or little nook. . This workshop is for ages 14 + older. Younger children may attend with a participating adult.

Shibori Dyed Tea Towels

Learn how to dye with indigo in the Shibori manner.

Shibori is a Japanese style of resist dyeing that involves twisting, tying, binding, folding, stitching and other manipulation of fabric. We will demonstrate a number of classic techniques and guide you to create your own unique designs.  The class fee includes two tea towels for dyeing. $45

You may also bring two additional small items to dye or purchase additional towels or napkins for $5 each.

Then you will pour, slide, swipe and tilt to create your own magical abstract painting. No painting skills are needed, just a fun attitude. Each student will get a 10 x 10 canvas and a 4" tile, paints and all other materials required to create two pour paintings in class. Please come dressed for mess. This workshop is for ages 12 and older. Younger children may come with an adult also taking the workshop.

Handbuilt Textured Ceramic Mug Workshop

Come Play with clay!!

In this workshop, students will be learn to create a functional ceramic mug from a large, flat rolled slab of clay. They will  then experiment with adding texture to the outside of the mug using a variety of the texture tools available at the studio. Students will learn basic building and joining skills that can be applied to many other handbuilt applications.  As time permits, students will be able to paint their mug with underglaze. After the workshop, the mugs will bisque fired, covered in clear glaze and fired again. They will be ready for pick up 2-3 weeks after the workshop ( in time to make a fabulous handmade holiday gift).  This workshop is for adults and teens 14+. No prior ceramics experience necessary.

Alcohol Ink Flower Tiles - a Craft n' Connect Workshop

Alcohol inks have a mind of their own and they are crazy fun!

In this workshop we will learn to tame the ink and will focus on creating flowers on tiles. Various tools will be used to place the ink on the tile, including brushes, toothpicks, cotton pads and q tips. We will also move the ink by blowing air through a straw and using canned air to create dramatic floral designs. Each participant will complete 2 tiles in class.

Alcohol inks stain clothing so please wear something appropriate. We will also be using 93 percent rubbing alcohol which has a strong odor.

This is a 4 week course that meets on 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, & 11/14.

Want to learn more about drawing and painting? In this course, we will learn and practice the fundamentals through both small weekly exercises and more in-depth studies.

We will learn to see like an artist, expand our creativity and technical skills and gain confidence in both our abilities and choices of materials.

Students will have much freedom in choosing their own topics for painting, and are encouraged to bring in any independent work for feedback. No previous drawing or painting experience required.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make a variety of earrings. From simple to statement, it’s up to you!  Using wire, connectors, components and beads, we will learn about basic jewelry design principles. Once we have our designs finalized, we will learn how to make simple and wrapped loops with wire and attach our earrings to earring findings.

During this two hour class, students will be able to make two different pairs of earrings from our wide assortment of semi precious stones, pearls and glass beads.

Nuno Felted Scarflette Workshop

Nuno Felting is  a wet felting technique that combines a sheer cotton or silk fabric base with wool fibers. Depending on what fibers are used - different types of wool roving, silk fibers, hankies, yarns - and how many layers are applied, one can build up color, texture and other design elements in a  finished fabric. We will create a beautiful short scarf (scarflette) in this workshop as you learn about the fundamentals and beauty of nuno felting. You may bring your own supplies to this workshop or buy a materials kit $20
